Boundaries are important!
Boundaries are important. Within therapy, boundaries are an important safeguard to protect both the client and therapist. In everyday life, as Julia Samuel MBE notes, boundaries are rules we establish to protect ourselves and as ‘enable us to take different versions of ourselves to different environments’.
In First Aid for Mental Health, we talk about where the role begins and ends and what we are in our roles. Just as important is knowing what we are not. Contact with us for more information on training and how we can support you with boundaries.
