Previously, Zoë was the inaugural CEO of the City Mental Health Alliance in Hong Kong (CMHA HK), part of the MindForwardAlliance, working with multiple companies in Hong Kong from across law, finance, insurance and consulting to support the creation and maintenance of mentally healthy workplaces. Zoë ran the CMHA HK for 4 years before moving to Dubai and remains on their Advisory Panel. Prior to this, Zoë spent over 15 years working in the fields of mental health and human rights as an academic researcher on topics including depression, the link between physical and mental health, and developmental and personality disorders within criminal justice, in-patient and community settings. She has also worked as an evaluation specialist in multi-country international development settings within Africa, Asia and the Middle East on topics including mental health, maternal and child health and modern slavery.
She holds a BSc in Psychology from University College London in the UK, a Masters in Counselling from Monash University in Australia, and a PhD in Health Services Research from the Institute of Psychiatry, Population & Neuroscience, King’s College London, UK. Zoe is also a Trustee of a UK mental health charity, TEDx speaker, an instructor in Mental Health First Aid in Hong Kong, and has won awards for her research work.
